2019 Summer Cooking Camp Catalog and Registration

Update: due to some last minute cancellations, we do have a few openings in our summer camp program at Oak Hill Montessori.

Online Cooking Classes – Registration begins May 20th

Since we have reached full capacity at our Oak Hill Montessori summer camp location, we are pleased to offer online cooking classes via YouTube. In this format, registered students will receive a link to a private, LIVE YouTube event in their confirmation email where they can watch Chef Tiffany teach a class and students can participate simultaneously in their own kitchen at home.

Parents and siblings are welcome to participate at no charge. Please have each friend register for their own class, even if friends will be cooking together in the same kitchen.

Registration will open on May 20th. We are planning to add at least 10 online classes on different days and times this summer.

How Do Online Cooking Classes Work?

When parents register their children for an online cooking class, an email confirmation is sent to the parent. This email contains a link to a private, LIVE YouTube event specifically for each class. In a separate email prior to class, parents will receive a class packet that contains:

  • the recipe for class
  • list of any equipment needed
  • special instructions

Although registered students will receive complete instructions, here is what you can expect from an online class with Chef Tiffany:

  • We recommend that students prepare their ingredients and equipment before class starts. Although Chef Tiffany will review what is needed, there will not be time for everyone to gather supplies once class starts.
  • Students need access to a device in the kitchen while they are cooking. The most ideal device is a tablet, but any other device that has the YouTube app will work.
  • Classes are meant to be interactive. Students may ask questions and respond to prompts via the chat window. This feature is available when the event starts.
  • Classes are recorded and will be available after the live event for those who registered for class for as long as our YouTube channel exists. However, students will NOT be able to interact with Chef Tiffany if they are watching a recording. We ask that you do not share the recording with anyone who is not an immediate family member of the registered student (parents and siblings only).

Have Questions? Send an email to Chef Tiffany.

For the purpose of this summer cooking camp catalog, all grade levels mentioned refer to students going into that grade for the 2019-2020 school year.

Summer Cooking Camps @ Oak Hill Montessori

I am beyond thrilled to be partnering with Oak Hill Montessori in Shoreview, MN to provide our cooking classes in an authentic Montessori environment for the 2019 summer cooking camp season. We have always done our best to teach our cooking classes with a hands-on approach. As a trained Children’s House Assistant, everything I do is with the child in mind.

From time to time we do get cancellations, so please browse our cooking camp catalog below and send an email to join our Wait List.

I look forward to seeing you at camp this summer and my heart is filled with joy to provide this opportunity in partnership with OHM.

Weekly Camp Details

Please note that the following title and recipes may change slightly. For the purpose of this summer cooking camp catalog, all grade levels mentioned refer to students going into that grade for the 2019-2020 school year.

All camps will include some non-cooking time after lunch for younger students that don’t have the stamina to stand and cook all day. Our lovely volunteers and staff will have fun and engaging activities for those that need a break for their little legs.

We are also very lucky to have access to the elementary playground and a garden, so we will have wonderful outdoor experiences when the weather cooperates.

Farm To Table Camps (Coming Soon)

We are currently working with a local farm to offer two single-day farm-to-table camps. We are still finalizing these details and waiting to see how the weather goes this spring, which has an affect on planting and the timing of harvest. For now, this is our current plan. We will update this page as we learn more details. We hope to open registration for these two classes in mid-April.

Cost of Cooking Camps

Early registration pricing is $349/student per week through midnight April 15th. At that time, registration goes up to $379/student per week. Although this may seem high, it is less than half the hourly rate of other comparable cooking camps in the Twin Cities. Our commitment to quality staffing and ingredients allows us to provide the highest quality experience.

The cost for the two Farm To Table camps will be released as soon as we have finalized the details with Farmer Butch (that’s a hint!)

Cooking Classes at Centennial Middle School

We are pleased to offer a series of single cooking classes on Thursday evenings at Centennial Middle School via the Centennial Community Education program. Chef Jessica will be teaching these classes. You must register directly with Centennial Community Education.
