Wed Sep 30th – Homemade Pasta & Bolognese Sauce
Time: Wednesday, September 30th from 3-5pm. (This class is also offered on Friday, Oct 2nd from 2-4pm. Available when October registration is open.)
Age Range: 6th grade and up
Price includes: 2 hours of cooking instruction plus ingredients for 4 servings to bring home for a family dinner. Additional servings may be requested for an additional $5 per serving. Substitutions are only allowed for allergies and may affect price. Price goes up to $47.50 after Sunday, September 27th.

Recipe: Homemade Pasta & Bolognese Sauce. This is not your ordinary meat sauce, but a thicker, creamier version of an authentic Italian red sauce.
Recipe Level: Between Easy and Intermediate because we will be working on time management for cooking two items that will be ready at the same time. Important skill!
At Home: Containers will be provided for pasta and meat sauce. Plate at home and eat! There's no reason they shouldn't be able to do this on their own going forward. 🙂
3 1/2 cups all-purpose unbleached flour, sifted (plus extra flour for preparing)
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 large Egg, beaten
2 Tablespoons water
For Bolognese Sauce:
2 tablespoons olive oil
4 garlic cloves crushed
1 onion finely diced
1 carrot finely diced
1 rib celery finely diced
1 pound ground beef
1/2 pound ground pork
1 1/4 cups red wine, or beef broth
1 cup whole milk
28 ounces whole tomatoes with juice
4 tablespoons tomato paste
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 bay leaf
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
