Learn how to make both sweet and savory recipes that are favorites of the MasterChef Jr contestants. We will incorporate fun games and competitions that are typically part of the show and students will bring home their leftovers each day as well as a binder of recipes and skills that will last a lifetime.

Each day has a theme related to the show and plenty of friendly games and competitions. Here's what's on tap for the 2020 version of this hugely popular summer cooking camp:
Monday - Not Mexican Tacos! Most people think tacos only come from Mexico, but every culture has their own version of this crispy and delicious meal. We will make 3 types of tacos - greek, korean, and ice cream truck versions.
Tuesday - Umami Day! Do you know what umami means? Stay tuned to learn more and watch for mystery ingredients and ingredient swaps. Recipes are Homemade Ramen Bowls and Cheesecake with a surprise umami flavor with a Balsamic Strawberry reduction as a topping.
Wednesday - Ingredients Swap! During this fun game, students will be asked to swap common ingredients with mystery ingredients that are in their basket to make a delicious but uncommon pasta dish and a Twisted Herb & Pesto Bread.
Thursday - Brown Butter Day! If you have never used brown butter instead of regular melted butter, you might be ruined. Brown butter will be used to level up Blondies from yummy to "OMG these are the best blondies I've ever eaten!" Also on tap is a fun competition to be unveiled in the morning and in the afternoon we will stretch their palettes a little bit with Brown Butter Salmon.
You are welcome to share the menu with your students or keep it a surprise. We will not be making any substitutions that are not based on food allergies. However, we may need to make some minor adjustments if there are any ingredients shortages.
